Needing Some Girly Time November 10, 2009

Yep, I’m a girly girl. And I’m needing some girl time! These tiny doses of Gilmore Girls & chocolate I’ve prescribed for myself just aren’t cutting it! (And before you ask, next week’s release of New Moon is not soon enough so I need something else!) So I have a lunch scheduled with a girlfriend tomorrow, but I’m researching “Girl’s Night” ideas right now! It isn’t quite the same, but hey- at least you’ll benefit from my boredom!

(In case you are wondering, the DPH is off at the midnight release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Don’t ask because I could tell you way more about the game that any of us cares to admit.)

Anyways, here’s some “girl’s night” ideas for you:

• Fondue party! Who doesn’t love to dip random food items into chocolate!?

• Beauty Product Test Night- Well, I found this and I’m going to assume that it is something along the line of a Mary Kay/Avon/Beauticontrol/etc party.
  

• Learn to Dance Party- Rent a dance instruction video and try it out! You could try line dancing, ballroom, or belly dancing. (This totally sounds like fun!)

• International Party- Pick a nation & then go all out. Dress the part, learn a few phrases, rent a video about it.

• Exotic Food Night- Have each person pick an exotic food that they’ve never had before. Then either drive around & try them all or pick one for each “girl’s night”.

• Diva Night Out- This one’s a little pricey, but could be fun for a big celebration! Rent a limo, dress up in fancy dresses, drink soda/sparkling juices out of goblets. If there’s one close enough, go to a drive in theater in the limo!

So New Moon is Coming Out Soon November 8, 2009

I keep mentioning it to the DPH & he’s probably tired of it (and by “probably” I mean “is”). Here’s a blog that helps you to identify the difference between a Twilight “fan” and a Twilight “fanatic”. Hope it makes you laugh as much as it did me!

Shelf Life Guide November 7, 2009

I am terrified of using food that is expired. I can never tell when it’s still good or not. Plus all those “sell by, expires on, use by, and number codes” have me all confused. If it says “sell by” do I need to consume it by then or is it good after that?

If you are like me, you will totally love this website a friend sent me the link to! It’s called “Still Tasty” and it explains all of that! Plus it’s got a great little “Keep It or Toss It” guide! Yeah- now I can stop calling up my mom every meal asking if she thinks my eggs are still good!

So I Thought I Had A Post Scheduled for Today November 7, 2009

But apparently I didn’t. Looks like you are getting a weather report today! Is it insanely warm where you are? It is here. I had to go check my calendar and make sure that yes, it is November. You know that month after Halloween when all your leaves are in your yard? Well, it doesn’t feel like it out there! On the plus side,  we got to visit friends and have a picnic at the awesome park near their house!

And though it has nothing to do with what I’ve been talking about, I did stumble on this free sample from Walmart.com of DenTek Floss Picks! So, um, go out and enjoy the great weather and…uh…have clean teeth!

EDIT- I did have a post scheduled! I just scheduled it to post at 10 pm…no clue why. lol All fixed!

I Want To Make This! November 6, 2009

I found this turkey appetizer while searching for Thanksgiving recipes and I’m in love! I totally want to make it for our Thanksgiving meal! If I can get the motivation to make it, I’ll share my own pics! Just gotta convince myself that it’s worth all the trouble that I know it’s going to be!

I Declare Today to be Field Trip Day! November 5, 2009

Yep, Bubba and BabyDoll are preparing themselves for a Field Trip! Me? Well, I’m honestly not sure where we are going yet! I’ll update & post some pics when we return. Until then, you’ll just have to live in suspense! lol

P.S. I just overheard my children in the living room. It was funny. See, I just told BabyDoll to just “go get a freakin diaper” because she’s been bringing me tons of other stuff BESIDES a diaper. Here’s the conversation I just overheard:

BabyDoll- “I get it.”

Bubba- “That’s not it. No. Put it down. Mommy said to get a freakin’ diaper and you better do it because when she says ‘freakin’ then she means it!”

lol Hm…better watch what I say I guess!

Joann’s Discount November 4, 2009

I’ve been thinking about making BabyDoll a little tiny sling for her babydoll’s for Christmas. I’m trying to find a perfect material for it & I stumbled on this coupon for Joann’s Fabrics. Now that all the local Wal-marts have stopped carrying fabric, it’s really hard to find a decent price so this helps a lot! It’s only available this Friday-Sunday so hurry up!

 

 

Checking My List November 3, 2009

I just finished ordering another Christmas gift! Now I’m so close to being done! I’ll be posting a list of creative/personal gift ideas soon!

Christmas shopping has been a huge topic with my friends and family this year. Apparently a lot of people are jumping on the “buy it earlier” bandwagon. Most chalk it up to the economy & not being able to fork over as much moolah in one month. Have you checked your list lately (have you even made one? lol)?
